My name is Marcus Hardaway. I am a graphic designer/illustrator. I have worked in the design industry for over twenty years. I love what I do. It is my hobby and my livelihood. I am constantly learning new design trends and techniques. I pride myself on amazing my customers as well as myself (at times). I usually say my little prayer and let God flow the creativity right through me. It has always been that way. I have rarely experienced designers block and if I did it, it was not for very long.
I recently worked at a job where my focus was design for decorated apparel using screenprint and embroidery. I have the ability to do a project from start to finish; meaning working with the client to working with printers or developers. I am familiar with various print types from offset to screen print. I also do design for digital media. I specialize in logo creation, rebranding, page layout, package design, flyers, web banners, strategic marketing, and illustration. My favorite mediums to use are watercolor, pencils, charcoal, pastels, and acrylics.
I love helping people visualize and realize their visions. I am very goal oriented and focused. If I had to describe my design style, I would not know where to start. I can say that in most cases when I speak with clients as they begin telling me their needs the gears in my head get turning. My process is conceptualized usually starting with research. Then I utilize color theory and other techniques to get my clients just what they need to achieve their goal. I am also a collector of fonts. I use strong typography and have a vast variety of fonts at my disposal. I know how to use an image to guide an audience in and then have the words direct them for a call to action.
I use the process of Adobe workflow. I use are Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop. There are others I have used, but these are my preference. I know how to make each work hand in hand with the other.
In my spare time, I love to read or listen to audiobooks. I am not a writer, but I do have experience writing radio spots, TV commercials and coming up with slogans.
The short of it is I love what I do. I am constantly growing and learning. I will be posting new content about myself and my design journey and hobbies when possible. I will also share my newest works.
Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoy my site.
